The setting for the painting seems to be a park or a garden. There are stairs going up and away from us. The bottom of the painting is covered in green grass and short foliage. The sides of the painting are framed by trees, but the green seems to diminish the further up the tree we go. They seem to be fully brown on the top. The branches merge on the top, and it frames the subject in the middle.

The woman in the painting is wearing a light blue dress. She is wearing black heels, a large red bag and a large red umbrella, she is holding open. She has long black hair. The woman is looking up, so one can understand that it was probably raining, and now it has stopped. One cannot know why the woman is walking down the stairs, but she doesn’t seem bothered by it. In fact she seems to be fascinated, looking at the brown trees.

The entire painting evokes calmness, but one wonders why the trees are bare and there is greenery near the bottom.

The woman jumps out of the painting, and the way she is standing makes her sound calm.
